Joining my GP Dad on his rounds in areas of deprivation in Hull opened my eyes to the impacts of inequality. I realised how important it is to have a strong, properly funded NHS and safety nets for the vulnerable. Ever since, I have wanted to give back to society, driven by the values he instilled in me.
My career in environmental policy has taken me around the world. I run my own company working with national governments and the UN. My approach is to bring people together, so that all voices are heard, making policy decisions that are evidence-based, sustainable and practical.
I moved with my family to the area in 2012. I became active in the community, volunteering to help the girls football, and eco-sustainability groups. In 2018 I was elected to South Cambridgeshire District Council. As co-chair of the local COVID-19 coordination team, I have helped to foster a strong sense of community and resilience in our villages.
