ELECTION LATEST: It's so close

Elections in South Cambridgeshire are a close fight between the Liberal Democrats and Conservatives

Your vote WILL make the difference between whether our next MP is Lib Dem Pippa Heylings or a Conservative.

How people vote in closely fought constituencies like here in South Cambridgeshire will decide the result of the upcoming General Election.

At the last General Election in 2019, Liberal Democrats fewer than 3,000 votes short of beating the Conservatives. And official analysis of constituency boundary changes, shows that the result would have been even closer last time, with Labour still far behind in third.

Just a handful of votes could decide which of them wins this time. Every vote will make a difference between a Conservative or Lib Dem win here.

Labour finished a distant third place in 2019 and can't beat the Tories in South Cambridgeshire.

Lib Dem or Conservative here

There are two choices. Either we will get a Conservative MP - and the out of touch government will continue to take our part of Cambridgeshire for granted, or we will get a Lib Dem MP in Pippa Heylings and South Cambridgeshire will have helped bring down this government.

No other result is possible here.

A Labour vote will help the Conservatives win

A vote for third-place Labour here risks letting the Conservative candidate sneak a win and help this government cling to power.

Labour only have three district councillors in the new constituency, and they’re all in one ward. They just don’t have the support right across the area to win. Meanwhile, the Liberal Democrats have 22 district councillors in the constituency.
