Pippa with health workers

Pippa knows the value of a strong national health service. As a child she joined her GP Dad on his rounds in Hull, and more recently the fantastic doctors and nurses at Addenbrookes saved her husband’s life when he was diagnosed with leukemia.  Supporting her elderly mother, Pippa has also experienced the challenges many families go through navigating an under funded social care system in dire need of reform.

Pippa has made the NHS her top priority and is campaigning for proper investment to get health services back on their feet. Cambridgeshire has the lowest per capita funding for GPs of anywhere in the country. Pippa is calling for:

  • A fairer funding deal for GPs in Cambridgeshire, so that everyone has access to a GP when needed, and a new Dentist training school for the East of England to tackle the waiting list for NHS dentists
  • A new children’s hospital in Cambridge and urgent action on ambulance and cancer treatment waiting times
  • A commitment from all parties to work cross party to find a solution to the social care crisis once and for all
